Zhengzhou to Dengfeng Shaolin monastery Chinese kungfu tour
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to visit the Astronomical Observatory near Dengfeng City. Built by astronomer Guoshoujin in Yuan Dynasty, it has a history over 700 years till today, and it's the existing oldest astronomical observatory in China.
Keep driving about 25km to the final destination of today - Shaolin Temple, the birthplace of Zen Buddhism and the cradle of Kung Fu. You will visit the grandiose temples and halls, admire stone carving art, learn about Buddhism culture, observe the daily living and meditation of monks in the temple. Don't miss the famous Pagoda Forest, the existing largest pagoda forest in China. When an important monk passed away, their cremains or skeleton would be put into the underground palace, and a pagoda will be built on it. The pagoda's height, size and number of layers will be decided according to the monk's Buddhism knowledge, reputation and merits and virtues when during his lifetime. The pagodas here were built in different dynasties, including 2 Tang Dynasty pagodas, 2 Song Dynasty Pagodas, 10 Jin Dynasty pagodas, 46 Yuan Dynasty pagodas, 148 Ming Dynasty pagodas, etc.
Then continue your visit to enjoy a magnificent free Kung Fu Show in the Shaolin Wushu Hall, lasting for half hour each day. In order to enjoy more about Kung Fu, you have about 2 hours Kung Fu training experience in Shaolin Temple. After that, drive back to Dengfeng City for accommodation.
Optional activity: Every night from 20:00 to 21:20, the Shaolin Zen Music Ritual nearby Shaolin Temple has a large-scale outdoor Kung Fu performance for tourists to experience a grand and splendid Kung Fu show with extra charge.
Zhongyue Temple and Songyang academy fly to Lhasa
After breakfast, drive to visit Zhongyue Temple and Songyang Academy whith both sit on the Mount Song as the neighbors of Shaolin Temple.
Zhongyue Temple, which is sitting at the foot of Taishi Mountain, is the core part of Zhongyue Scenic Area. First built in Qin Dynasty (221 BC ~ 207BC), Zhongyue Temple is the holy land for Quanzhen Taoism in China, and it's the largest and best preserved ancient architectural complex among the Five Famous Mountains in China.
Songyang Academy, together with Yingtian Academy, Yuelu Academy and Bailudong Academy, are called as the Four Greatest Academies in ancient China. It's one of the earliest academies in China. First built in Northern Wei Dynasty (386 ~ 534), many famous Confucian scholars had given lectures in here, including Sima Guang, Fan Zhongyan, Cheng Yi, Cheng Hao, etc. The academy has a total different architectural style from the temples in China. It's more simple and elegant.
After the tour, drive 80 km back to Zhengzhou to catch your flight to Tibet.
Lhasa city tour-Potala Palace-Johkang Temple-Barkhor Street
Enjoying the first sunrise from the last heaven on earth - Lhasa, enjoying your breakfast at hotel. Then to our first scenic spot - Potala Palace, which is praised as the Pearl of the Roof of the World. It was put to use since the 7th Century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.
After lunch and a break, travel to Johkang Temple which is called the Eye of Tibet. Around the temple is Barkhor Street, where you can explore the old market and buy some Tibetan souvenirs.
Lhasa - Yamdroktso lake - Karuola Glacier - Gyantse - Palcho Monastery - Shigatse
After breakfast, drive from Lhasa to Lake Yamdroktso (Altitude: 4400m). The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains. In the distance, you can have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (Altitude: 7191m), which is the highest mountain near Lhasa.
Later, we will pass through and enjoy the Korola Glacier on the roadside. Then, arrive in Gyantse, a historic Tibetan city. In Gyantse, we will visit the famous Palcho Monastery to enjoy the far view of Gyangtse Fortress.
Then keep driving, we will arrive in our destination Shigatse, and have a rest there.
Shigatse - Lhatse - Everest Base Camp
After breakfast, we'll leave Shigatse after getting your Alien's travel permit, and then drive to Lhatse for lunch.
After that, we will pass Tsola Pass (Altitude: 4600M) and Gyatsola Pass (Altitude: 5248M). Shortly after we will enter Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve, tourists can enjoy the panorama of Himalaya at Gawula Pass (Altitude: 5198m).
Then we drive to Everest Base Camp (Altitude: 5200m). You can get closer to gazt at the Mt. Everest peak.
Everest Base Camp - Shigatse
In the morning, you can see the sunrise of Everest Peak at the lodging area. Then we will visit the Rongbuk Monastery - the unique highest monastery with nuns and monks living together and later trek from lodging place to Everest Base Camp. You can visit the Everest Base Camp and take the close-up shot of Mt. Everest. Finally, we will drive back to Shigatse.
Shigatse - Tashilhunpo Monastery - Lhasa
After breakfast, we will head to Tashilhunpo Monastery which is one of the Six Big Monasteries of Gelugpa (or Yellow Hat Sect) in Tibet. Be called the Heap of Glory, it is located at the foot of Drolmari (Tara's Mountain), Shigatse. The monastery's structure was expanded by the Fourth and the successive Panchen Lamas. Covering an area of nearly 300,000 square meters (3,229,279 sq. ft.), the main structures found here are the Maitreya Chapel, Panchen Lama's Palace and Kelsang Temple.
Then we drive back to Lhasa and stay overnight.
Lhasa - Lake Namtso - Lhasa
In the morning, drive from Lhasa to Lake Namtso, one of the four holy lakes of Tibet and also the highest saline lake in the world.
On the way, you can see snow-capped Nyenchen Thanglha Mountain Ranges and lots of nomads and their tent with grazing yak and sheep densely-populated on the flourishing grassland (in summer). Besides, you can enjoy the view of Sky-Road Railway with snow mountain background.
While standing at the famous Lagenla Mountain Pass (Altitude: 5190m), you can view the stunning vista of holy Namtso Lake.
Lhasa City - airport or railway station
After breakfast, our guide and driver will transfer you to the airport or railway station.

Cancellation 10 days before departure due to political reason or natural force, no cancellation charge on local tour, but the lost caused by refunding flight tickets and train tickets is on travelers.
Airfare: Travelers can get refund of airfare according to the policy of Airline Company. Local Tour Fee: Travelers can get refund of 60% of unused local tour fee, including admission fee of tourist sites, accommodation fee, tour guide fee, private vehicle fee, etc which are included in tour contract.
Train Fare: Travelers can get 60-80% refund of unused train fare according to the policy.
1) Tibet Travel Permit
The permit is an essential document for international visitors to enter Tibet. Normally we highly recommend customers to apply it 20-30 days in advance of your departure with submit copies of your passport and visa to us. It is required 30 days in advance at least if your tour involves Kailash or Lake Manasarovar. Basically the permit will be done within 10-15 days (except Chinese public holiday) and it will be delivered by express to your hotel or valid address in China.
(We have branch offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Xining, Zhengzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, which means can be delivered by our staff.)
2) About Tibet Accommodation
There are luxury resort, three and four stars hotel can be arranged in Lhasa & Nyingchi, four and three stars hotel in Shigatse can be arranged, guesthouse only in Gyangtze & Everest & trip to Kailash. The price showed on website includes three stars hotel, if you want to upgrade your hotel level, please contact with our travel consultant. We've selected safe and cozy hotels in Lhasa central area where you can explore more around Potala Palace & Jokhang Temple & Barkhor street.But the accommodations of trip to some areas like Tingri, Gyangtze, Everest, Ngari, Naqu, etc., would be poorer, and the food is very basic.
3) About single room supplement
The price showed on website is single person accommodation fee. Normally, when you're travelling alone, you will be arranged a shared twin beds room with another tourist, or you can pay a single room supplement if you want a private room.
4) About Meals
Our hotel includes complimentary breakfast (except guesthouse),our tour leader will arrange dining during the trip but need to pay on site around 5 USD per person. Or you can arrange it by yourself.
5) About guiding and tips
Our English-speaking tour leaders are licensed native of Tibetan with profession Tibet culture and Buddhism knowledge. A tour leader plus one experienced driver will be arranged in each group, You can get any assist from them if needed. Basically a $7 tipping per day is acceptable. Anyway good payment depends on good service.
6) About pick-up/drop-off services
We provide free public shuttle service to pick-up/drop-off between airport/railway station and Lhasa downtown. 70km from airport to downtown, 30km from railway station to downtown.
7) About toilet
For many international travelers, using toilets in Tibet is an unforgettable experience. So, please reduce your expectation. If you take Tibet train to Lhasa, both sit and squat toilet are available on the train. If you stay in hotel above 3-star in Lhasa or Shigatse, you will have no complaining using standard western toilet.However, if you are visiting some outdoor attractions, such as Yamdrok, Namtso and EBC, mostly you have to use the smelly and filthy pit toilet. You would better carry enough toilet paper.
8) Climate in Tibet
The Tibet Autonomous Region located in the southwest of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China,it has dramatic temperature change between day and night. The annual temperature in Lhasa is -2~12°C (spring),10~25°C (summer), 6~18°C (autumn), -9~10°C (winter). Normally, As the altitude rises much higher, the temperature drops much lower. Do wear clothes properly such as thermal tops, fleece jacket, breathable underwear, down jacket, jeans, beanie, etc. Tibet has long duration of daylight and the climate is dry, so sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm are necessary.
9) About high altitude sickness
Taking a good rest is the best way to prevent high altitude sickness for the first time to Tibet no matter by Airplane or train. Do not get a cold or fever before your arrival. Walk slowly, eat more fruits or vegetables, try to drink local Tibet butter tea. If you feel uncomfortable, just find our tour leader to get assist.
As Tibet is a special region in China, According to local policy, international visitors are not allowed to travel without a tour leader. Do not talk about sensitive topics like politics. Do not photograph the Buddha in monastery unless you get permission. Walk clockwise around Barkhor street.ect…Remember to find our tour leader if you are uncertain about something before you do it.
