Arrive in Lhasa
Lhasa city tour-Potala Palace-Johkang Temple-Barkhor Street
Enjoy the first sunrise from the last heaven on earth - Lhasa, and have your breakfast at hotel. Then wait for the tour-guide and drive to our first view-spot Potala Palace. Potala Palace is one of the most magnificent heritages in China, also is the highest altitude palatial architecture complex on earth. The Potala Palace was built in Tang dynasty (7th century A.D.) for the marriage of Princess Wencheng and Songtsen Gampo (the king of ancient Tibet). Potala Palace is hailed as the essence of Tibetan architecture, painting and religious art. A large number of historical religious artifacts in Potala Palace are also priceless treasures.
After lunch, take a break, then guide to Jokhang Temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Around the temple is Barkhor street, where you can explore the old market and buy some Tibetan souvenirs.
After breakfast, visit the first attraction, Drepung Monastery. There are many large monasteries in Tibet, and each has its own characteristics. Among them, Drepung Monastery is perhaps to be the most unmissable one. Drepung Monastery is one of the three major temples of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism and is the largest temple in the world. There were as many as 10,000 monks here. Most of the Lamas in the Drepung Monastery are very friendly, they will certainly be many gains if they can be invited to accompany while visiting the temple.Each year in the 8th month of Tibetan calendar, the most solemn "Buddha Displaying" ceremony of Shodun Festival is held here.
We will visit the Sera Monastery afternoon, which is located at the foot of the Sera Ujung Mountain in the north of the Potala Palace. It is known as one of the "three major monasteries in Lhasa" together with the Gandan Monastery and the Drepung Monastery. Sera means wild rose in Tibetan, and it was named because in the story, when the monastery was built, here was full of wild roses. There are 9,000 monks in Sera Monastery. Although Sera Monastery is not as grand and colorful as the Drepung Monastery, there are some of the most famous debates among Tibetan area. The debate is held at the debating hall on the northernmost side of the monastery and usually starting at 3:00 p.m. every day. There are many people who want to watch the debate. If you are interested, you must arrive early to take a good position.
Highlights: Yamdrok-tso Lake & Korola Glacier & Pelkor Chode Monastery
After enjoy your breakfast at your hotel, drive from Lhasa to Shigatse and heading to our first view-spots Yamdrok-tso Lake (Altitude: 4400m). The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains, and in the distance, you can have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, which is the highest mountain near Lhasa.
Later, we will pass and enjoy the Korola Glacier on the roadside. Then, we will arrive in Gyantse, historically Tibet's third largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse). In Gyantse, we will visit the famous Pelkor Chode Monastery and enjoy the Far view of Gyangtse Fortress. Then keep driving, we will arrive in our destination.
Highlights: Everest Base Camp
After breakfast, we'll leave Shigatse after getting your Alien's travel permit, and then drive to Lhatse for lunch. After that, we will pass Tsola Pass (Altitude: 4600M), and Gyatsola Pass (Altitude: 5248M). Shortly after we enter Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve, tourists can enjoy the panorama of Himalaya at Gawula Pass (Altitude: 5198m). Then we drive along the New zigzag road to Everest Base Camp (Altitude: 5200m). You can get closer to gazt at the Mt. Everest peak.
Highlights: Sunrise of Everest Peak to Saga
Morning, we can enjoy the sunrise of Everest Peak at lodging area if weather permits. Then we will head to saga. Along the journey you can view of the world's 14th highest peak Mount Shishapangma (Altitude: 8,012m), and the turquoise Lake Peikutso. If you are lucky enough, you are very likely to see wild animals like wild donkey, wild antelope, etc.
Highlights: Saga - Lake Manasarover - Mount Kailash
On the way to Darchen, you will have a chance to appreciate the stunning view of the Saga valley between Gangdise Range and Himayala Range. Meanwhile, the beautiful grassland and local villages can also be seen. As we cross the Mayomla Pass (5112M), you can enjoy the spectacular vista of Mt. Naimonanyi (7694M). Then we are supposed to pass by the holy Lake Manasarover and finally arrive at the southern foot of Mount Kailash, the most holy mountain in Tibet. Then we will have a rest in Darchen.
Trek from Darchen to Dirapuk
Today we will trek from Darchen (4,560m) to Dirapuk Monastery (4,750m). The trekking is a gradual walk in the clockwise circuit at the average altitude of more than 4,700 meters. You will be accompanied by many local Buddhist pilgrims also walking the same kora. For Bon pilgrims, they walk anti-clockwise direction. You will stop at the Tamdin (4,780m) for lunch and a short rest, then keep trekking 4km to the final destination today - Dirakpuk Monaster. This section of trekking contains some of the best scenery of the entire journey.
Trek from Dirapuk to Zutulpuk
Trek from Dirapuk Monastery crossing Drolma-la Pass (5,630m) to Zutulpuk Monastery and then Dzutul-puk Monastery.
Zutulpuk - Darchen - Shigatse
Wake up early to appreciate the holy sunrise of Mount Kailash, after breakfast, you will trek back to Darchen. Todays' trekking will not be so hard, so you can enjoy a leisure and relaxing journey in 3-4 hours. On route, explore the meditation cave of Milarepa, the famous Buddhist master and Yoga meditator. Then we are about to drive from Dachen to Shigatse.
Shigatse to Lhasa
We will follow Yalong Valley back to Lhasa. On the way, you can stand on the viewing platform to view the vast Yalong River bed and visit Water Mill making Tibetan Incense material (in Summer, if time permits). Drop off at hotel in Lhasa.
Lhasa City town to Airport or railway station.
After breakfast, our guide and driver will transfer you guys to airport or railway station. End of the trip and we are looking forward to see you again. Tashidelek.

Cancellation 10 days before departure due to political reason or natural force, no cancellation charge on local tour, but the lost caused by refunding flight tickets and train tickets is on travelers.
Airfare: Travelers can get refund of airfare according to the policy of Airline Company. Local Tour Fee: Travelers can get refund of 60% of unused local tour fee, including admission fee of tourist sites, accommodation fee, tour guide fee, private vehicle fee, etc which are included in tour contract.
Train Fare: Travelers can get 60-80% refund of unused train fare according to the policy.
1) Tibet Travel Permit
The permit is an essential document for international visitors to enter Tibet. Normally we highly recommend customers to apply it 20-30 days in advance of your departure with submit copies of your passport and visa to us. It is required 30 days in advance at least if your tour involves Kailash or Lake Manasarovar. Basically the permit will be done within 10-15 days (except Chinese public holiday) and it will be delivered by express to your hotel or valid address in China.
(We have branch offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Xining, Zhengzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, which means can be delivered by our staff.)
2) About Tibet Accommodation
There are luxury resort, three and four stars hotel can be arranged in Lhasa & Nyingchi, four and three stars hotel in Shigatse can be arranged, guesthouse only in Gyangtze & Everest & trip to Kailash. The price showed on website includes three stars hotel, if you want to upgrade your hotel level, please contact with our travel consultant. We've selected safe and cozy hotels in Lhasa central area where you can explore more around Potala Palace & Jokhang Temple & Barkhor street.But the accommodations of trip to some areas like Tingri, Gyangtze, Everest, Ngari, Naqu, etc., would be poorer, and the food is very basic.
3) About single room supplement
The price showed on website is single person accommodation fee. Normally, when you're travelling alone, you will be arranged a shared twin beds room with another tourist, or you can pay a single room supplement if you want a private room.
4) About Meals
Our hotel includes complimentary breakfast (except guesthouse),our tour leader will arrange dining during the trip but need to pay on site around 5 USD per person. Or you can arrange it by yourself.
5) About guiding and tips
Our English-speaking tour leaders are licensed native of Tibetan with profession Tibet culture and Buddhism knowledge. A tour leader plus one experienced driver will be arranged in each group, You can get any assist from them if needed. Basically a $7 tipping per day is acceptable. Anyway good payment depends on good service.
6) About pick-up/drop-off services
We provide free public shuttle service to pick-up/drop-off between airport/railway station and Lhasa downtown. 70km from airport to downtown, 30km from railway station to downtown.
7) About toilet
For many international travelers, using toilets in Tibet is an unforgettable experience. So, please reduce your expectation. If you take Tibet train to Lhasa, both sit and squat toilet are available on the train. If you stay in hotel above 3-star in Lhasa or Shigatse, you will have no complaining using standard western toilet.However, if you are visiting some outdoor attractions, such as Yamdrok, Namtso and EBC, mostly you have to use the smelly and filthy pit toilet. You would better carry enough toilet paper.
8) Climate in Tibet
The Tibet Autonomous Region located in the southwest of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China,it has dramatic temperature change between day and night. The annual temperature in Lhasa is -2~12°C (spring),10~25°C (summer), 6~18°C (autumn), -9~10°C (winter). Normally, As the altitude rises much higher, the temperature drops much lower. Do wear clothes properly such as thermal tops, fleece jacket, breathable underwear, down jacket, jeans, beanie, etc. Tibet has long duration of daylight and the climate is dry, so sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm are necessary.
9) About high altitude sickness
Taking a good rest is the best way to prevent high altitude sickness for the first time to Tibet no matter by Airplane or train. Do not get a cold or fever before your arrival. Walk slowly, eat more fruits or vegetables, try to drink local Tibet butter tea. If you feel uncomfortable, just find our tour leader to get assist.
As Tibet is a special region in China, According to local policy, international visitors are not allowed to travel without a tour leader. Do not talk about sensitive topics like politics. Do not photograph the Buddha in monastery unless you get permission. Walk clockwise around Barkhor street.ect…Remember to find our tour leader if you are uncertain about something before you do it.
