In the morning, drive from Chengdu to Leshan to have an overlook at the famous Giant Buddha. The grand Buddha carved out of the cliffs at the confluence of the Dadu, Minjiang and Qingyi Rivers. You will take a sightseeing cruise on the river and face the huge stone Buddha.

In the afternoon, drive from Leshan to Mt. Emei and visit Baoguo Temple at the foot of Mt. Emei, known as one of the four sacred Buddhism mountains in China and listed on Natural and Cultural Heritage List in 1996 by UNESCO.

In the morning, visit the famous Mount Emei. Many ancient temples are scattered in the deep mountain, and the nature environment is beautiful.

After breakfast, move on to the entrance to Mt. Emei and take the cable car to the Golden Summit, where you can travel among the clouds. If the weather is fine and clear, you may have the fortune to see the Cloud Sea even Buddha light. Then, take another cable car to visit Wannian Temple where you can have a simple lunch. Leave the scenic area and drive back to your hotel in Chengdu.

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding - overnight train to Lhasa

In the morning, drive to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda​ Breeding, where you will catch pandas' feeding time. The base is surrounded by green bamboos and trees. The fresh air and wild scenery integrate with the artificial landscape. In the building and on the lawn, giant pandas can either lie or sit, eat or play, leaving an impressive scene to the visitors.

In the afternoon, we will transfer to Chengdu Train Station to catch the overnight train to Lhasa.

Spend the whole day on the train to Lhasa. It is quite a long journey of taking a train from Chengdu to Lhasa. It will take 44 hours, two days and two nights in the Train.

Enjoy the first sunrise from the last heaven on earth - Lhasa, and have your breakfast at hotel. Then wait for the tour-guide and drive to our first view-spot Potala Palace. Potala Palace is one of the most magnificent heritages in China, also is the highest altitude palatial architecture complex on earth. The Potala Palace was built in Tang dynasty (7th century A.D.) for the marriage of Princess Wencheng and Songtsen Gampo (the king of ancient Tibet). Potala Palace is hailed as the essence of Tibetan architecture, painting and religious art. A large number of historical religious artifacts in Potala Palace are also priceless treasures.

After lunch, take a break, then guide to Jokhang Temple​ which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Around the temple is Barkhor Street, where you can explore the old market and buy some Tibetan souvenirs.

Lhasa - Yamdroktso Lake - Gyantse - Palcho Monastery – Shigatse

After breakfast, drive from Lhasa to Lake Yamdroktso (Altitude: 4,400m). The Holy Lake Yamdroktso is a plateau lake with an elevation of 4,441 meters and a 250km lake line with an area of 638 square kilometers. Surrounded by many snow-capped mountains, it is the largest inland lake in the northern Himalayas.

Then, arrive in Gyantse, a historic Tibetan city. Here, we will visit the famous Palcho Monastery and the One Hundred Thousand Pagodas. Then keep driving, we will arrive in our destination Shigatse, and have a rest there.

Gyatso Snow Mountain - Himalayas - Rongbuk Monastery - Everest Base Camp 1

About 8 o'clock in the morning, we will drive to Xegar. When come to Xegar, we can see the majestic Mount Everest.

Along the way, we will climb over the 5,220-meter-high Gyatso Snow Mountain and pass through the Lhatse County. After a short stay, go to Tingri and have lunch at local restaurant. After that, head to Everest Base Camp and walk along the magnificent Himalayas, and reach the highest monastery in the world, the Rongbuk Monastery​ (ticket not included). Here you can have the best view of Mount Everest.

Then, transfer to a scenic eco-bus to the Everest Base Camp 1. At night, you can enjoy the stars at the foot of Mount Everest. The galaxy is just like a stone's throw away, as if you can reach out and touch it. The bright stars will give you an unforgettable Everest night.

Everest Base Camp Sunrise - Shigatse

Rongbuk Monastery is the best place to watch Mount Everest. Around 6-7 in the morning, the rising sun will paint Mount Everest into golden color. Here you can face the world's highest peak Everest again, and feel the splendor of nature. If lucky enough, you can also see the swinging Everest banner cloud.

Many mountaineering experts believe that the location of Rongbuk Monastery is the best place to view Mount Everest. From here you can go through the canyons, cliffs and rocks to the Everest Base Camp. After the sunrise, we will arrive Tingri (or Xegar) at noon for lunch, and stops for a while and return Shigatse along China-Nigeria Highway.

Shigatse - Tashilhunpo Monastery - Lhasa

After breakfast, we will head to Tashilhunpo Monastery which is one of the Six Big Monasteries of Gelugpa (or Yellow Hat Sect) in Tibet. The monastery's structure was expanded by the Fourth and the successive Panchen Lamas. Covering an area of nearly 300,000 square meters (3,229,279 sq. ft.), the main structures found here are the Maitreya Chapel, Panchen Lama's Palace and Kelsang Temple.

Then we drive along Brahmaputra River basin back to Lhasa.

Namtso Lake - Nyainqentanglha Mountain - Northern Tibet Grassland

After breakfast, head to Lake Namtso​, which is 4,718 meters above sea level. It is the largest saltwater lake in Tibet, and highest in the world. It is also a holy place for pilgrims. On the way to Namtso, you will experience the Northern Tibetan Grassland, Qinghai-Tibet Highway. Climb over Nengla Mountain with an altitude of 5,190 meters, you will see the snow-covered peaks of Nyainqentanglha Mountain in the trail of colorful prayer flags. The yak stocks of vast grasslands are widely seen along the way. Return to Lhasa in the afternoon.

Tips: Namtso is at high altitude and the temperature is lower. Please prepare some cold-proof clothing. The whole journey will be 520km and a round trip will take about 9 hours.

Basongtso Lake - Mira Snow Mountain

Depart from Lhasa and follow the Lhasa Valley, cross over the Mila Snow Mountain (Altitude: 5,013m). Along the journey, you can watch the natural scenery of the Nyang River Valley, visit the main stream, and admire the primeval forests and green pastures dotted with cows and sheep.

After lunch, go to the Holy Lake of Mongolian Lamaism--Lake Basumtso​. Snow peaks, glaciers, virgin forests and monuments embracing Basongtso and make people truly return to "Shangri-La". Every spring, the lake is surrounded by flowers and the snow peaks reflect the lake. The scenery is intoxicating. Guests can take a luxury yacht at own expense to visit the mountains and lakes. On the 4th Tibetan Calendar month 15th, the local believers came back to make a pilgrimage around the lake.

After that, arrived at Bayi Town, Nyingchi for rest.

Namjagbrawa peak - Lhasa

After breakfast, we will visit Namjagbrawa Peak​, which is the highest mountain in Nyingchi area, and is praised as the Chinese Alpine. It is 7,792 meters above sea level and ranks 15th in the world's highest peak. It's huge triangular peaks are snow-covered all year round, and are always covered by clouds. Therefore, it is also called the "Shy Goddess Peak", you may need some luck to have a glimpse for her true face.

After visiting, return to Lhasa.

Tips to tour guide and driver, you are suggested to tip them 7 USD/day in total.

Cancellation Policy

There are three kinds of cancellations:

No show up 100% of total trip cost.

The tour will be canceled due to political reason

Cancellation 10 days before departure due to political reason or natural force, no cancellation charge on local tour, but the lost caused by refunding flight tickets and train tickets is on travelers.

If Tour has to be cut off by any physical disease or personal reasons when travelers are in Tibet

Airfare: Travelers can get refund of airfare according to the policy of Airline Company. Local Tour Fee: Travelers can get refund of 60% of unused local tour fee, including admission fee of tourist sites, accommodation fee, tour guide fee, private vehicle fee, etc which are included in tour contract.

Train Fare: Travelers can get 60-80% refund of unused train fare according to the policy.

Know before you go

1) Tibet Travel Permit

The permit is an essential document for international visitors to enter Tibet. Normally we highly recommend customers to apply it 20-30 days in advance of your departure with submit copies of your passport and visa to us. It is required 30 days in advance at least if your tour involves Kailash or Lake Manasarovar. Basically the permit will be done within 10-15 days (except Chinese public holiday) and it will be delivered by express to your hotel or valid address in China.

(We have branch offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Xining, Zhengzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, which means can be delivered by our staff.)

2) About Tibet Accommodation

There are luxury resort, three and four stars hotel can be arranged in Lhasa & Nyingchi, four and three stars hotel in Shigatse can be arranged, guesthouse only in Gyangtze & Everest & trip to Kailash. The price showed on website includes three stars hotel, if you want to upgrade your hotel level, please contact with our travel consultant. We've selected safe and cozy hotels in Lhasa central area where you can explore more around Potala Palace & Jokhang Temple & Barkhor street.But the accommodations of trip to some areas like Tingri, Gyangtze, Everest, Ngari, Naqu, etc., would be poorer, and the food is very basic.

3) About single room supplement

The price showed on website is single person accommodation fee. Normally, when you're travelling alone, you will be arranged a shared twin beds room with another tourist, or you can pay a single room supplement if you want a private room.

4) About Meals

Our hotel includes complimentary breakfast (except guesthouse),our tour leader will arrange dining during the trip but need to pay on site around 5 USD per person. Or you can arrange it by yourself.

5) About guiding and tips

Our English-speaking tour leaders are licensed native of Tibetan with profession Tibet culture and Buddhism knowledge. A tour leader plus one experienced driver will be arranged in each group, You can get any assist from them if needed. Basically a $7 tipping per day is acceptable. Anyway good payment depends on good service.

6) About pick-up/drop-off services

We provide free public shuttle service to pick-up/drop-off between airport/railway station and Lhasa downtown. 70km from airport to downtown, 30km from railway station to downtown.

7) About toilet

For many international travelers, using toilets in Tibet is an unforgettable experience. So, please reduce your expectation. If you take Tibet train to Lhasa, both sit and squat toilet are available on the train. If you stay in hotel above 3-star in Lhasa or Shigatse, you will have no complaining using standard western toilet.However, if you are visiting some outdoor attractions, such as Yamdrok, Namtso and EBC, mostly you have to use the smelly and filthy pit toilet. You would better carry enough toilet paper.

8) Climate in Tibet

The Tibet Autonomous Region located in the southwest of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China,it has dramatic temperature change between day and night. The annual temperature in Lhasa is -2~12°C (spring),10~25°C (summer), 6~18°C (autumn), -9~10°C (winter). Normally, As the altitude rises much higher, the temperature drops much lower. Do wear clothes properly such as thermal tops, fleece jacket, breathable underwear, down jacket, jeans, beanie, etc. Tibet has long duration of daylight and the climate is dry, so sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm are necessary.

9) About high altitude sickness

Taking a good rest is the best way to prevent high altitude sickness for the first time to Tibet no matter by Airplane or train. Do not get a cold or fever before your arrival. Walk slowly, eat more fruits or vegetables, try to drink local Tibet butter tea. If you feel uncomfortable, just find our tour leader to get assist.

10) Others

As Tibet is a special region in China, According to local policy, international visitors are not allowed to travel without a tour leader. Do not talk about sensitive topics like politics. Do not photograph the Buddha in monastery unless you get permission. Walk clockwise around Barkhor street.ect…Remember to find our tour leader if you are uncertain about something before you do it.
