Tibet is a good place for pictures of stars, for plateau area is close to the sky, and is free from city light pollution. However, it is not an easy job to shoot the stars in Tibet, so we summarized pieces of advice for you.

First, take a tripod with you. There could be strong wind at night of Tibet, especially when you are in the wild or near the lakes. It requires long exposure time when taking pictures of the stars and a little vibration may ruin your work. Don’t regard the tripod as a heavy burden, you need it to shoot your photography works.
Second, bring a single-lens reflex camera if you have. Although normal camera or a smartphone can do the job, but your work may full of noisy point, or you will find it hard to adjust the suitable aperture or focal distance. Take your best equipment to take the best photograph!
Third, check out the parameters of taking photos of stars in advance. Night Tibet could be cold and windy, so it will not be a good experience to check the parameters on your phone in such chilling winds.
Finally, do wear more clothes and pay attention to keep warm. Tibet has large temperature difference between day and night. Even if the day is warm, the temperature may drop below freezing point at night. So, prepare some thick clothes before you go.
